Continue watching for ads in the Jackson Independent and the Independent Shopper for upcoming training courses.

Basic Qualifications:

  • You must be a registered voter of Jackson Parish who does not require assistance in voting.
  • You must not have been convicted of an election offense.
  • Those who attend this school in its entirety and pass the open-book exam will be issued a certificate. Their names will be placed on the list of qualified commissioners for Jackson Parish and they will be eligible to be selected to work at the polls in Jackson Parish until June 30, 2008.

Thanks to our legislatures, Act 297 increased the pay for certified commissioners to $200 per election!
